Pirc Defense, Classical variation | Blitz Chess #410

I really missed out on time “gainers” in this game. Long after some early shuffling with a clueless light-squared bishop, an instructive endgame was produced highlighting a “tempo pawn”. This was a 5|0 time control game, where I was playing with the white pieces. The opening played was the Pirc Defense, Classical variation.

  1. That was beautiful display of bullet technique at the end

  2. White to play and win with less than a second on the clock. Jerry: hold my beer!

  3. i literally flipped out at the end of that game, i can't handle that level of stress

  4. Keeping the voice calm during the endgame is really a skill 😎

  5. 9:51 "No, I win this". With 1.5 seconds left on the clock and nothing but a blockaded pair of doubled pawns.

  6. man, that was pre move magic at the end. man you moved fast!

  7. how are you so calm???? what's the secret Jerry

  8. On move 22, RxRook+ before Nxd5 is the better line right? Because it removes a defender of d5

  9. 0. 5|0?! is an inaccuracy. The best move was 0. 4|2.

  10. Haha, This one is cool, man! Chess can be so stressfull πŸ˜€

  11. Talk about pulling a win out of nowhere. That was amazing, Jerry. πŸ‘

  12. Best instructor ever is Jerry. Not just because he knows how to play extremely well, but because his articulation is second to none πŸ‘

  13. I laughed out loud when he said his heart was racing. I can so relate. It's terribly stressful to play with a gun to your head lol

  14. You are my role model you have no idea😍😍😍

  15. Jerry, has anyone ever told you that your voice sounds nearly identical to Paul Rudd's? Sometimes I just pretend I'm learning chess from Ant-Man while he's on house arrest.

  16. Beautifully done. I was certain you were going to lose on time

  17. Jerry I still contend that you are the coolest human in existence. Thank you for your well articulated insights. My rating has improved tremendously since becoming a subscriber. Cheers.

  18. Insane! I stop breathing even after watching it twice.
