The 2019 GRENKE Chess Classic is a 10-player round-robin held in Germany from 22-29 April. The first 3 rounds are in Karlsruhe alongside the GRENKE Chess Open, then after two additional rounds in Karlsruhe and a rest day the last 4 rounds are in the Kulturhaus LA8 in Baden-Baden. The field features World Champion Magnus Carlsen and fellow Top 10 players Fabiano Caruana, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Vishy Anand and Levon Aronian.
The time control is 100 minutes for 40 moves, then 50 minutes for 20 moves and then 15 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment from move 1. If players are tied for first place a rapid play-off will take place. Official website:

I find the new regulation AND the taking charge of the WCh quite of good common sense.
What I’d suggest to FIDE right now is honoring Agadmator aka Our Antonio with a trophy of some sort and also a special prize for doing more for Chess than ALL the National Federations combined. Making chess more popular, better (if possible) understood and a lot more attractive and accessible. The vast knowledge of noobs also greatly improved. IF they are excellent subscribers (and they are) of course.
And this is not a joke.
Just a little suggestion, maybe you could add the national flag of the player beside their picture
Sip of water @ 14:08
Love ur channel. Ur analyzing skills are second 2 none. Could u beat MC???
Whoever denies that Carlsen is the Greatest of this Generation is a damn fool!
What do we do here?
The quality of the couches is improving.
Some strange and inaccurate claims about Meier's time in the comments. Meier had 1:25 left on his clock when Magnus made his last move Qe4. Meier did not immediately resign. He wisely used the time available to see if there was anything he had missed and any way out. Thought for over a minute. Offered his hand in resignation with 4 seconds left.
Magnus groving that playoff beard
why @19.31 its a lost for white QxNa5. somebody please explain 🤔🤔🤔
Who downvotes?
He drank that water like it was tea or vodka.
4:10 Why not 7.Ne5, threatening the rook?
10:06 why doesn’t white threaten horsie and capture rook
D1 to C3 last move
it's the knight check nananananananananananananananana
No increment seems like it was to reduce the draws that everyone is complaining about. At their level though, does it matter? All they have to do if they want to draw is go into a well known line of a well known opening and they will probably both know exactly how to draw the game.
"b5 … it's just there"
Congratulations, you are an excellent sipper of waters
17:35 why didn't he consider knight c3 while explaining? It seems like a nice move?
'You are not very likely to win points….. Or are you? We'll just have to see'
Agadmator 2019
14:59 "There now is definitely danger of capturing the bishop" – gives zero reasons. As usual. Just sees the moves and "Blablabla- the rook moved, to e5, that is closer to the centre, by accident it attacks this pawn and is generally brilliant, because it is played by Carlsen, who is playing White and Black according to the frequent mixing of the F***ING PLAYERS". agadamator in a nutshell.
Playes Ne6 … "Again … Knight to Ceee 6" shakes head horrible
Get into the game already enough talking
#suggestion magnus vs agadmator
Did magnus carlsen ever lost the game
I think Elon Musk and Magnus Carlesn might be coming from the same planet (I don't mean the Earth)…
4:10 How about 7.Ne5 dxe5(d5)? Winning an exchange or having nice knight on e5 and 8…Bb7 looks just weird
Thanks for the video! Great!
This is amazing play from magnus…iam spellbound:-)
what if night to c3
I just love Cagnus Marlson
I love watching Meier on Chess dot com. Nice to see him appear on this channel.
16:50 I guess Meier said f**k chess rules ima capture in front of queen
13:00 I would play queen to c1 cuz pawn can take if queen takes and you take the knight if the horse doesn’t move after the pawn
After queen to e4, knight to c3!
Isn't that saving the position??
At 7:05 after the knight to c6 from white, why not go castle to c8? You can take the knight with the castle after that and it will still be protected by the queen and if white then moves the knight somewhere else, black gets a free queen
Of all tensions on the board, all you are worried about is a beardless photo?
video starts on 3:00
Love
For the moment we have the bearded one. 😹
Knight here Knight here Knight here?……!!!!!!
@10.26 min
Instead of Qd3 can't Ne3 be played
I am just wandering how magnus see this video I mean you are trying to keep the curiosity in audience by not saying who wins but magnus knows who won.
What about white plays his knight to c3?
how come nobody in comments mention carlsens HUGE center 🙂
He shaved his beard. So? Is that worth commenting on? Lol.
Insanely complex game. Both played well.
Why didn't carlsen capture a pawn at 10:00 ?
Justin magnus is bro Gavin magnus yeah?!
you are an excellent finder of sneaky tactics 😂😂😂😂
