HOW TO MAKE A SOUTHERN CLASSIC CHESS PIE

Southern Classic Chess Pie

Ingredients:

1 Deep Dish Pie Crust
1 Stick of unsalted Butter (room temperture)
4 Eggs
1 1/2 Cups of Sugar
2 Tablespoons All Purpose Flour
1 Tablespoon of Yellow Cornmeal
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
1 Tablespoon of White Vinegar or Lemon Juice
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
1/4 Cup of Whole or Evaporated Milk

Bake @350 for 55 minutes. Cool Completely before serving or placing in a refrigerator.

  9. My recipe leaves out the flour and doubles the corn meal. Also, as others have pointed out, if you melt the butter first, you don't need a mixer. A spoon or whisk will do. This is an all-time favorite at my house. Enjoy!
