  1. @ 1:18 'This is generally a bad move'

Actually this is a pretty important variation in which normal moves often lead to quick disaster for black….

    fail fail fail

  2. @SportM84, our 1st 3 videos were made by one of our interns. We've since decided to make the videos ourselves because of these sorts of things. I still believe the overall video is informative.

  3. i see that too bishop and kinght attacking it

  4. Thank you for the video, in the past few days I started to study the French defense more seriously, this video helped me understand a couple of more ideas behind this defense.
At 6:15 I can hear a cat in the background ? (sorry for the stupid question)

  5. at 4:30 ,white is not losing material after 11….b5 . tis black who loses material after 12.Bf1 x b5 ! I might have missed that when I was rated 1400 and couldn't see the whole board . other was a very nice video !

  6. This is a very informative video. Before watching this I played a 1700 with the steinitz variation that went 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.e5 Nfd7 5.f4 c5 6.Nf3 Nc6 7.Be3 Qb6 8.Na4 Qa5+ 9.c3 cxd4 10.Nxd4 Nxd4 11.Bxd4 b5 12. Nc5 Bxc5 13.Bxc5 Nxc5 14.b4 Qa3, and the rest went very downhill for him. I should have won that game but it ended in a draw because I somehow blundered my 3 pawn advantage in the endgame, which led to a draw. This was very tragic for me because if I had won that game I would have gotten 3rd place in the Alberta provincial championship for the under 18 section, which took place over the weekend.

  7. I have a hard time too see how this is analysing in depth. Others from that there are many errors like mentioned before at time 4.00 where white plays Nc5 and he is fine not lost. I think if anyone should publish to youtube with any claim it has to be better than this.
