The London Chess Classic is a 10-player round-robin taking place from December 1st to 11th at Google HQ in London, for Round 1, and then at the Olympia Conference Centre in Kensington. The event is the 5th and final leg of the Grand Chess Tour and features World Champion Magnus Carlsen, other tour regulars Viswanathan Anand, Levon Aronian, Fabiano Caruana, Hikaru Nakamura, Wesley So, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Ian Nepomniachtchi and Sergey Karjakin, as well as English wild card Mickey Adams.

The prize fund is $300,000 (about €280,000) with a first prize of $75,000, plus another $100,000 and $50,000 respectively for the top two in the overall 2017 Grand Chess Tour standings. Players receive 100 minutes for 40 moves then 60 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second delay from move 1. In the event of a tie for first, a tiebreak match (10 mins + 5 seconds delay) will be played, beginning 30 minutes after the end of the last classical game. If still tied, up to 2 mini matches (5 min, 3-sec delay) will follow and finally an Armageddon game (5 min vs. 4 min). Official websites: | grandchesstour.org

  1. 13:14 What if Caruana would give up the Knight and went with the Bishop for G and H pawns to gain 2 passed pawns? Placeing king on B8 would stop Carlsen from promotion.

  2. carlsen could have win it at the end.. i wonder why he drawed maybe missing time?

  3. World championship this year might be same as this match

  4. 6:11 Why Carlsen didnt play knight to c6? (a5 to c6) Am i missing sth?

One of my coolest wins as black.

  6. I usually hate videos that review chess games but idk why I love yours and have been binging them like crazy

  7. 5:38 insteady of Qa3 how about b3 guiding two knight with pawn

  8. God is worthy to be praised and served as King. Obey Jesus! 🙂

  9. “As the knight on f6 wasn’t really doing anything there, didn’t really have a bright future there…”

    Sounds like me…

  10. Awesome snap of Carlsen in the thumbnail!

  11. One very impressive thing about Carlsen is that he calculates all the variations in detail before making a move. He must have a very high IQ.

  12. I'm going all in all for Carlsen at this WC match.

  13. agadmator, if e5 (instead of Qa3 as played) black keeps both knights by playing Nd5 I think.

  14. Bishop to a8 are my favorite type of moves

  15. I really love this channel
    Thank you so much really!!

  16. Would b5 be a good response to e3 for bishop to neutralize the pawn loss?

  17. Considering the contributions your house and pet, it may seem that you are single, but with your intelligence keeping the end game in mind you could be married. Hope you have some passed pawns.

  18. lmfao the jump from 3:08 to 3:10. I cant imagine myself getting to that level of calculation

  19. You go into such deep analysis of potential moves that by the time the board shifts back to before the first theoretical move, I am taken aback by how early on in the game the analysis strayed away from the actual events.
    Thanks for the content!

  20. Hey, can you make a video with your doggo's picture somewhere? May be In place of Tal's image. With all due respect to Mr. Tal.

  21. Where channel can i watch world chess championship match ??

  22. Chess these days are too positional for my taste

  23. When he said in the end
    Did anyone hear indian

  24. An interesting quote by the world master, I also don't look at them as opponents due to the impossibility to compete with them

  25. At exactly 6:56 Meadows got bored of the game and left to see what's in the refrigerator. Stomach before loyalty ! I love your chess poochie !

  26. Fabiano kind look like Loki/Tom Hiddleston

  27. anyone knows how does he use this board? like what website?

  28. Queens Gambit is not a gambit as black cannot keep the pawn if white plays correctly.
