Norway Chess is a 6-player double round-robin featuring World Champion Magnus Carlsen and taking place in the Clarion Hotel Energy in Stavanger, Norway from 7-17 September. Each of the 10 rounds consists of a classical game where a win is worth 3 points and a loss 0. If the players draw they play an Armageddon game, where the winner earns 1.5 points and the loser 1 point. No draw offers are allowed before move 30.
The classical time control is 2 hours for all moves, with a 10-second increment per move only after move 40. For Armageddon White (the same player who had White in the classical game) has 10 minutes to Black’s 7, with a 1-second increment from move 41. Black wins if the game ends in a draw. A tie for 1st place will be decided by two 3+2 blitz games followed, if necessary, by a 5 vs. 4-minute Armageddon game. Official website: norwaychess.no

Sicilian Defense: Nyezhmetdinov-Rossolimo Attack
I love how despite being so quick he's thorough and even has time to explain basics, making these game reviews appealing to everyone.
2:20 Why not Nxh4?
Cringe recap
Wow nice you played like pro
aimchess just over, now new tournament, does this guys know the word 'rest'?
Nepo had some visa issues that's why the game was delayed
bets that carlsen vs nepo will play nothing but quick draws in classical lol? cant imagine that either of them will want to risk giving away prep but who knows – maybe theyll surprise us and give us an early taste of the championship lol.
Please do the Nepo game with Carlsen
What do you think about super GM color preference to play with in armagedon format if they have the choice
This guy is a true professional. Love this channel man.
I think you could of named this the boring game. I am not a good player ( lichess 2000 rating) for what that is worth. But I didn't see one move that surprised me. Not saying I would of made the moves they made. But after watching your other videos and being blown away by the moves and especially after you explain why. This seemed like a dud.

ALL THIS FOR A DRAW
Is there any way Agadmator can ban @Pitohui≈ for spamming all the time?
Its like Ruy Lopez but its italian
Isn't 7:36 winning for white as you can go with NC7 before pushing the pawn to A7?
Why h4 pawn was not captured by Magnus in the pinned move 7? It was protected by queen right?
5:59 Nice French Defence
Can someone explain to me why the black knight can't capture the pawn on h4 so that knight gets traded and the black queen recaptures @ 2:02
So glad I found this channel last night, super in-depth and great explanation of games. It’s already helping me learn more then I already know.
Nepo had trouble with getting a valid visa to enter the country i think… Therefore the match was delayed
Magnus is not taking a break.
When i saw my favourite title i had to get in asap (i would regardless). These battles for the future are awesoooome
What a draw! I am waiting the fourth round
I really think he is Romulan. Strategist in action.
During the Covid-19 pandemic I was able to invest with a professional broker, Ms. patricia sophia, I am making huge profits on my investments since I started trading with her, Ms. patricia sophia trading strategies are top notch.
This point system (3 points for a win basically like football/soccer) should make for much more interesting games, in shorter time formats this scoring system will result in even better/wild games and potential big swings in matches and could lead to increased number of spectators. A draw shoul have never been worth half the point/s of a win.
Just imagine if a draw in soccer would be worth 1.5 points, teams would have to prioritize defense and it will result in very boring games.
layman question here : After Firouzja played Bishop to G5, why not move Magnus Pawn to H7>H6 ? And why did Magnus not try to attack on that lane and maybe not castle. To me it looks like the King was anything but safe there and Alirezas Rook and Knight not developed.
I actually watched for this for the first time live and had a lot of time during Alirezas thinking periods and all indication I had to back up my thoughts was the "win-o-meter" on the side which was favoring Magnus a bit until then and went to "this will be a draw" with no movement for either black or white after that.
Seems like he missed to seize an opportunity but probably i'm wrong.
Thanks for whoever schools me here 🙂
Tbh I don't want to watch Magnus vs Nepo in this tournament, I wanted to wait for the match. I kinda want them to make a quick draw
Can anyone explain why carlsen didn't just take the pawn on H4?
After h4, why couldn’t Magnus just capture with his knight?
Beautiful game, really insightful on passed pawn and rook positions
Thanks for covering 7459 moves!
I don't want to scare you, but there is a dog in your room. Right behind you.
Where is Ding Liren?
This is the good stuff (of today)
Why didn't he capture the h4 pawn? It is a free pawn, isn't it. It is attacked by the queen and the knight but defended only by one knight, so why not grab it?
9:58
I was thinking about that move lol
2:13 why not simply take the pawn? its free isnt it and it opens the white kiing a bit
Okay lets start time the game. Make the move.
Alireza: e4
Antonio: hello everyone
I think I could win you in a chess match💯💯💯
Clash I'm waiting for is alireza vs Magnus.
Kudos to those who have find the move
Why not explain why the h4 pawn is NOT grabbed by the black Knight at the beginning of the game ? That is crucial to understand.
I want his hello everyone as my ringtone
At 5:01 he says that Knight can't go back to e5. Why?
Why not just capture this h4 pawn with a knight as your queen also defends that square?
Excellent hypothetical commentary
After Alireza plays pawn to H4, why not just take the pawn with the knight? I feel like I’m missing something.
